I use rsync on my server to sync my backups to my desktop automatically every night. While extremely powerful, rsync isn't that easy to use if you want to do incremental backups, I have limited space for my desktop backup, so incremental's are critical.

I put a rooted vanilla version of Android 2.2 "Froyo" on my Motorola droid a few days ago. Here are my observations.

It's faster.
Not a mindblowing speed increase, think the feeling you get when you compare XP to 7. 7 is faster, but you can't specifically narrow down where.

I haven't gotten flash.

Net Neutrality has been in the news allot recently, and there is a very small minority of people that know what it actually is, and why it's a big deal.

Net neutrality is the notion that your ISP be it your cable, dsl, or smartphone should not have the ability to filter the web, or to make certain parts of it fast or slow. Everything should be delivered to you in a neutral fashion.

We have moved out of the cramped apartment that we've been at for the last year. Our new place is much larger, and better equipped for where me and Whitney are in our lives right now. Apart from a relatively minor electrical issue, we are very happy.

My long awaited iPad got here yesterday, and while I do have some qualms, like the onscreen keyboard, overall I am fairly impressed. My biggest gripe with portables has always been he battery life and that seems to have been addressed in spades with this. Used it all last night and about a hour this morning and I still have 63%.

Not many individuals or businesses have gone to using a online office suite. Their reasons have been numerous, and for the most part, perfectly valid. Online office suites don't have nearly as many features, they aren't as fast, and when your internet goes down, you no longer have access to them.

Ok, 8 month old power supply went out with a bang in a puff of smoke and took my MB, and possibly my CPU with it.

I just finished up my first week working for the bank. I have gotten a steadily better idea of what the position is, and thankfully my responsibilities will be fairly vast and therefore I will continue to be a well rounded individual.

There aren't too many companies that offer linux pre-installed on their machines. The big ones that offer only linux are Zareason (my personal favorite, apparently they printed out one of my thank you emails and added it to their inspirational wall), and System76.
